Working in a private hospital it’s harder than you can ever imagine. It actually has politic issues going on just like the normal office. It has its own dark secret which I cant reveal much to the public but when I’m working in this kind of environment, I find it to be scary and disturbing.

Recently something serious happened, not to say serious more of stupid I think. When things go wrong, some doctors will try to blame it on the nurses. This particular doctor even told the family members that it was the nurses’s fault and now they refused to pay for the bill.

So who’s going to pay for it? Our cost centre, meaning no bonus for us. SHIT.

We all know the true story, but we don’t have proof to support us. So the smart doctor caught our weak spot and blames it on us.

One of my colleagues that are involved in this incident is waiting for an official statement from the doctor. This particular doctor is smart enough to tell the family member that it was nurses fault but has no guts to release an official statement to blame my colleague. Because he cant face the fact that is was also part of his mistake.

Anyway my colleague is ready to seek legal advice if the doctors release official statement to her.

So lesson I learnt from this incident is – DOCUMENTATION

To be sarcastic, nursing care is f***king not important compared to documentation. So let’s say is you’re my patient, I will just sit down and document everything, ohh you pass motion this morning, ohh you having shortness of breath. Well I will just document down but I wont clean the shit for you and I don’t give a damn to how breathless you are as long as I document down.

See the stupidity behind it?

Nowadays we hardly spent time with patients because the nurses have toooooo much paper works to do, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. No point saying you’ve done something but you didn’t document it down, no black and white to support yourself.
