LOL Code Green in my ward??

It’s not surprising to have code green in ward 14 but my ward? Hahahaha

Code green meaning we have patient turns violent and need help from the securities. Ward 14 is a psychiatric ward so it’s pretty common to have code green. But few days ago, one of my patients turned violent after having the sedation.

Sedation is supposed to help one to calm down or sleep but this patient got the very opposite effect, he turned so violent that my night staff couldn’t handle him and they need to initiate code green and borrow binder from ward14 to tie the patient up.

Something for you to know –

CODE BLUE = Patient asystole, no more heart beat, once code blue initiated, the code blue team from ICU will run to the ward, along with the anesthesia on call. Meaning, haha time to do CPR.

CODE GREEN = Patients turn violent, securities guards will come; they are the macho man that help you to hold the patient.

CODE RED= FIRE….. so far I have only experienced code red once, that was during my student nurse time, the funny part was seeing the guards holding water pipes running to the affected area.

Well, today, it was my first time sort of prayed for my patient. I’m not sure whether I’m allowed to do so but when the calling is there, I just did it there and then.

A patient of mine having bloody stool for the past few days, the doctors cant really figure what was happening and they have to do angiogram once again this evening. It was an emergency angiogram. I was cleaning the patient’s shit when one of the doctors came in and noticed the existing problem, he ordered for Hb blood test stat and true enough the patient’s haemoglobin was low, so one pint pack cell to transfuse asap and we had to arrange for a last minute angiogram.

Once the radiology department is ready, I had to send my patient down. While waiting for the radiologist to come, I went over to the patient; informing him I need to go back to the ward and trying to tell him to relax. But the uncle’s face is so worried, I felt so sorry for him, knowing he’s a Christian; I just hold his hand and said a little prayer for him.

‘ Do not be afraid for our heavenly Father is always with us, he lives in us, within us and he sends angels to guard over us. Everything happens for a purpose, there must be reason why you are here, God always has his plans, plans to prosper us and not to harm us. All we need to do is just commit ourselves to him, trust that he’s always there for us’

I really do hope that this prayer works for this uncle.
